It's not everyday you get a chance at something low key.  So when you
do get a chance at something potentially somewhat exclusive you have to
jump at it.  Last Saturday that opportunity arose for us.  We were told
Henry Cavill would be intro'ing the Man of Steel movie at a movie
theater in the middle of nowhere for people from Edwards Air Force base.
 So jump we did!
It was a long drive and hot as all hell but when
we arrived there was a little rail right in front of the theater.  It
seemed to good too be true!  Within minutes of walking up an officer
walked up to inform us it will not happen and Henry would be doing a
meet and greet, going in and leaving.  There would be no time to sign
for us.
A little time passed and they began to bring out the fans
with wristbands and put them in rails in the shape of an oval leaving
the middle open.  They couldn't possibly stick Henry in the middle of
that?  Yup, they did.  He arrived and stood in the middle surrounded by
100 fans and ping ponged his way back and forth signing and taking
pictures.  It was actually quite impressive.  He wasn't in a rush.  He
was taking time with each person.  Shaking their hand, looking them dead
in the eye and asking their name.  It didn't come off as a chore.  He
seemed to be excited to meet each and every fan.
As
the meet and greet came to an end and security was informed to cuff
anyone who tried to cross the rope they put up we called out to Henry as
he entered the backdoor to the theater.  He said he had to go in but
would come over after and thanked us for waiting in the heat and gave us
 two thumbs up!

About 10 minutes later out walked Henry.  At this
point his car was ready and security pointed him to the car.  He told
them "No, I need to take care of those guys." Good to know Superman is a
man of his word and take care of us is exactly what he did.
Henry
came over and began signing and thanking all of us for waiting.  He
shook my hand, looked me dead in the eye and asked my name and thanked
me for waiting.  It wasn't an act for a meet and greet.  This guy is the
genuine article.  By this point a few others had joined us and he
stopped and signed and took pictures with everyone.  He took a picture
with a man and his baby.  He bent down and talked to a few little
girls.  He then got in his car and rolled down the window and waved and
thanked us all for coming out.  Great way to end the day.  Thank you,
Henry.

| Here's Henry laughing when I told him he could sign down at the bottom of a picture and he said "Too close to the crotch!" |
