Free Giveaway + Some of our Favorite Items & Why they are.

This weekend we are starting the online contest where you can post your favorite item from your collection to our Facebook wall.  We will then pick a few of the items (based on how many total entrees) and draw from those names to select someone to win this Alexander Skaarsgard signed 8x10.

We are fans of this stuff just as much as you guys and wanted to post a few of our personal favorite items and give a little blurb as to why they are important to each of us.

My first favorite piece is actually three pieces from Tim Burton!  I am a big Nightmare Before Christmas lover and spent years trying to get Chris Sarandon to sign this piece (Before he did conventions).  Not that long ago it was actually more common to get Catherine OHara, who is now impossible!  The photo in the middle is signed by the two... and on each side is an original sketch by Tim Burton.  These sketches are pretty rare as Tim wont do them anymore...
This piece took me 16 years to complete, it's signed by the important cast of The X-Files.  I cant believe the show started over 20 years ago now... A lot of them did conventions back in the day but I never thought to carry this with me.  It's signed by David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, Nick Lea, William B Davis, Dean Haglund, Bruce Harwood and Tom Braidwood.  I also got the composer Mark Snow on it... Impossible to track these guys down together anymore...  Finally got David on it last week!  Saved him for last!

Finally, my last peice is one of my favorites.  George Carlin was always a personal hero of mine, somebody who I feel is a modern day poet.  I was lucky enough to meet George many times over the years, and every experience was better than the last.  He was always very gracious and loved to meet individuals.  A few years back I felt like taking a spur of the moment trip to Las Vegas to catch him in concert... that was on a Sunday.  A week later he was gone.  I attended his 2nd to last concert.  George signed this 16x20 for me at one of his book signings... It'll forever be on my wall!

I'm a comic book nerd.  I watch Cartoon Network & Adult Swim religiously.  So last year when I had the chance to go into Comic Con for a few hours...I geeked out.  I was like a kid in a candy store!!  I walked around collecting free stuff and seeing all my favorite cartoons and comics.  I had printed an Aqua Teen Hunger Force cast shot in hopes of seeing them.  Little did I know I would run into them at their booth.  They had already finished signing and the lady at the booth told me No but when they saw my shot they freaked out and wanted to sign it!  It made my whole trip.

It was a golf tournament.  A long ass day.  Lots of walking and I don't walk unless it's with my dogs.  I had been following Jack Nicholson around all day and having a horrible day.  I couldn't get the guy!  No matter how much he signed it just wasn't happening for me.  So I said screw it and left to find Jerry West.  I'm a big Laker fan and this was BIG for me.  I walked all over the damn golf course trying to find him and finally did.  As I walked up I heard Mr.West say he was done.  NO WAY IN HELL was I gonna give up.  I was exhausted and grouchy.  I approached Jerry and he told me he was done.  I said "Mr.West, I don't mean to be rude but I'm going to follow you to every single hole until you sign my stuff.  I've had a long day and I just walked all over this course trying to find you." Not only did he sign my ball but two 11x14s I had.  This ball will forever be in my collection.  I worked too hard for it.

This one doesn't have a cool story.  I just flat out LOVE Breaking Bad.  It's the best show on TV and one of the coolest casts I've had the pleasure of meeting.  To this day every time I meet someone from the show, whether it's Aaron Paul for the 15th time or a small bit player for the first time...I GEEK OUT!!

I had started this Blow poster one time and paid for Paul Ruebens to sign it.  He loved it and was so happy to see something other than Pee Wee Herman.  He inscribed it "Derrick Foreal".  So I took it to an event to add Penelope Cruz one day and begged her to switch to a silver pen.  She would not.  (I am an absolute snob when it comes to pens.  I like my items the way I like em!) Not only did she sign in blue but she put a hole in it!  I was so distraught I trashed it.  I decided to purchase the poster again.  It was the Rango premiere and if you've ever seen a Johnny Depp premiere you know it can get wild.  Fans were like wild monkeys trying to get a glimpse of their favorite star.  I managed to run around to a small open part of railing and Depp was coming to me.  I asked him please switch to silver and he DID.  This is not an easy feat when it gets wild.  He switched to silver, ducked down and signed my poster then looked up smiled and twirled the pen to give it back to me and bowed to me as his security pulled him away.  I was the last autograph of the night.  Awhile later I added Penelope at her star ceremony in silver.  This bad boy is DONE!  One of my favorite movies and it came out just how I'd hoped it would.

I, like Edwin, LOVE Breaking Bad.  It took me a little while to get turned onto the show but once I saw episode one I was hooked.  I got this item at a Q & A for the show.  Bryan walked out and was all smiles.  I expressed my love for the show and asked him to write "To Anthony, Fuck you and your eyebrows!" he laughed and said he's never been asked to write that.  He signed it for me and took a picture with me.

One of my favorite hobbies is poker.  I can sit at a table for hours and just put my ipod on and play. I didn't even know what the rules of poker were when I went to see this movie.  That day in the theater I fell in love with poker.  This movie is the reason.  I can watch it anytime it's on and never grow tired of it.  Over the years I've steadily chipped away at it.  Now just Edward Norton is left.  It may be another 2-3 years til it's completed but when it is I'll be a very happy man.  I recently added Matt Damon to it and he inscribed it with "I feel like Buckner walking back into Shea" If you know the movie, you know the line.  Now if I can just add Norton...

Oh, Henry! Two thumbs up for Man of Steel's Superman, Henry Cavill!

It's not everyday you get a chance at something low key.  So when you do get a chance at something potentially somewhat exclusive you have to jump at it.  Last Saturday that opportunity arose for us.  We were told Henry Cavill would be intro'ing the Man of Steel movie at a movie theater in the middle of nowhere for people from Edwards Air Force base. So jump we did!

It was a long drive and hot as all hell but when we arrived there was a little rail right in front of the theater.  It seemed to good too be true!  Within minutes of walking up an officer walked up to inform us it will not happen and Henry would be doing a meet and greet, going in and leaving.  There would be no time to sign for us.

A little time passed and they began to bring out the fans with wristbands and put them in rails in the shape of an oval leaving the middle open.  They couldn't possibly stick Henry in the middle of that?  Yup, they did.  He arrived and stood in the middle surrounded by 100 fans and ping ponged his way back and forth signing and taking pictures.  It was actually quite impressive.  He wasn't in a rush.  He was taking time with each person.  Shaking their hand, looking them dead in the eye and asking their name.  It didn't come off as a chore.  He seemed to be excited to meet each and every fan.

As the meet and greet came to an end and security was informed to cuff anyone who tried to cross the rope they put up we called out to Henry as he entered the backdoor to the theater.  He said he had to go in but would come over after and thanked us for waiting in the heat and gave us two thumbs up!

Henry with the double thumbs up!
About 10 minutes later out walked Henry.  At this point his car was ready and security pointed him to the car.  He told them "No, I need to take care of those guys." Good to know Superman is a man of his word and take care of us is exactly what he did.

Henry came over and began signing and thanking all of us for waiting.  He shook my hand, looked me dead in the eye and asked my name and thanked me for waiting.  It wasn't an act for a meet and greet.  This guy is the genuine article.  By this point a few others had joined us and he stopped and signed and took pictures with everyone.  He took a picture with a man and his baby.  He bent down and talked to a few little girls.  He then got in his car and rolled down the window and waved and thanked us all for coming out.  Great way to end the day.  Thank you, Henry.

Here's Henry laughing when I told him he could sign down at the bottom of a picture and he said "Too close to the crotch!"

Henry taking a picture with "Flounder".  Thanks for coming out to help!
The Ed Special.  A nice large amount of the Lancaster skyline.

Brad Pitt makes our day! Video, Autographs & Photo Ops!

It's not everyday you get a chance to see Brad Pitt.  He's one of the biggest names in Hollywood and aside from a red carpet premiere you don't get many chances to get close to him.  When we heard there was a chance Brad would be making a pit stop in Los Angeles on his mini tour of the U.S. intro'ing his latest film, World War Z, we had to roll the dice and see if we would get lucky!

Not only did we get lucky, but I think it's safe to say Brad Pitt earned himself a spot on the top 3 signers of the year list so far.  I never in a million years thought it would turn out how it did.  If I left with one I would have been happy.  Thanks to my good friend (Real not sham, buddy!) for kickin' down an extra 11x14 I was able to walk away with six between me and Edwin.  Wish I would have had a few more printed but I'll settle for the photo op any day of the week.

Here is some video we shot of Brad signing for us. This wasn't him just going through the motions.  He was very personable and chatted with everyone a little.

Here are photos of Brad signing..

Here's what we got signed...
