Went to the TV Guide Party last night with one thing in mind. Lucy Hale. Unforunately, Lucy didn't show up. In fact, a few of the names I was looking forward to didn't show up. Sometimes it happens and you just gotta make the most of it.
First up was Liam McIntyre from Spartacus. Liam was very nice and signed and took pics. I had two 8x10s for him and got them both done.
Lance Reddick was up next. Lance is always very cool to his fans and takes the time to sign. Tonight was no different. I had two new Fringe cast piece 11x14s and a Wire 11x14. He signed all three for me.
We have about four cast pieces going for Pretty Little Liars and have been slowly chipping away at them. Sasha Pieterse, who plays Allison aka A on the show, showed up unexpectedly. Luckily I had pulled our PLL cast items and she was in one of them so I added her to it. Two of them now just need Ashley Benson to complete!
Suddenly a sports car pulled up and hotel security started getting a little crazy. It turned out to be Adam Levine. Adam got out of his car and looked like he was going to ignore us when he decided to come over. I had 2 11x14s for him. One for a friend's wife who's in love with Adam and another, well, I couldn't ask to get it signed! Luckily a friend of mine offered to do it and sure enough, Adam signed both.
Tony Goldwyn was out next. Tony is mostly known for his role in Ghost but I really enjoyed him on the show Dexter and he's the voice of Disney's Tarzan. I opted to get him on a Tarzan 11x14 and 2 8x10s.
Jenna Elfman was the next to leave. Going in she didn't appear to have much interest in signing. Coming out, it looked the same. However, she did end up coming over after a few minutes of will she/won't she. I had one 11x14 for her from the movie Can't Hardly Wait. I love that movie!
Up next was my pleasant suprise of the night. Let me preface. Yes, I watch Vampire Diaries. I enjoy it. It's actually a pretty entertaining little hour of television. Okay, so earlier in the night I saw Candice Accola go into the party and as I am usually overprepared, I had 2 11x14s for her with me. She told me she would come over on her way out and true to her word she did. Let me just say, this is one of the sweetest celebrities I've come across in a long time. Truely gracious and kind. She signed both my pictures and took a picture with me and thanked me for waiting for her. She then proceeded to take pictures with anyone who asked. Highlight of my night.
Around this time a funny thing happened. Brendan Robinson, who plays Lucas on Pretty Little Liars, had come over to take pictures. As he was leaving a friend and I were talking and he made the comment how Lucas was lucky cause he got to kiss Ashley Benson. Lucas was in his car directly in front of me and looked over at me as if he wanted to say something. I pointed to my friend and shook my head who was just out of view. He peeked out and Lucas said "What did you say about Ashley?" and he repeated himself. Lucas laughed and nodded in agreement and said "Yes, I didddd" and laughed about it. I think he thought we were talking trash about Ashley initially.
After that came Danai Gurira aka Mischonne from the Walking Dead. Danai never seems particularly interested in signing but always seems to take the time. She came over and answered a bunch of questions from a camera man and signed pretty much everything anyone had. I happened to have 1 8x10 since I wasn't aware she was going to show up and had not printed for her since she signed all our items at the Season 3 Premiere. I told her her scene in last night's episode was bad ass and she said "It was all me!" She signed my 8x10 and added her character name.
Jeri Ryan was up next. Like others before her, she had promised to come over on her way out and she stuck to her word. I had two 11x14s for her and she signed both of them.
Up next, one of my favorite, Giancarlo Esposito! Mr.Esposito ALWAYS looks fresh and is always very nice. I added him to a 12x18 breaking bad item and started a revolution cast item.
Last up, Nick Wechsler from Revenge. I added him to two cast items, 1 12x18 and 1 11x14, and a trio 11x14 shot. He was nice. A little strange. On the 12x18 he wrote a thought bubble above his character's head and wrote "I'm an asshole!" and a friend freaked out when she realized he was on the show Roswell. She asked him to sign a piece of paper and talked to him about the show and he wrote "Thanks for the jesus and stuff". I'm not sure what that means but hey, it's probably one of a kind! That was the end of the night. Didn't turn out how I hoped but it wasn't too shabby.
