Dexter Farewell - Michael C. Hall and the cast make it a memorable night!

I've been a fan of Dexter since the pilot.  I had read the first book by Jeff Lindsay and was really looking forward to how it would translate to the screen.  From the very beginning I was hooked.  Michael C. Hall was the perfect Dexter Morgan.  Over the years I've gotten to enjoy the eight seasons of Dexter and can't wait to see how it ends.  Tonight was a special Farewell to Dexter screening with a Q and A with the cast and when I had the opportunity to pick up a ticket via a friend I couldn't let it pass me by.

The theater was mostly Showtime executives and VIP guests and not many everyday folk.  They passed out bobbleheads, DVD's, books and CD's to those that had made it out for the night.  Things kicked off with a highlight reel of the eight seasons of Dexter and I've got to say, it got me highly anticipating the final two episodes.

The cast was all in attendance.  Aimee Garcia, Yvonne Strahovski, Geoff Pierson, Desmond Harrington, David Zayas, James Remar, Jennifer Carpenter, Michael C. Hall and two of the showrunners.

The Bay Harbor Butcher himself.

Lt.Deborah Morgan with the babysitter & Hannah peeking over her shoulders.

She will forever be Sarah Walker to me.  (For the Chuck fans out there!)

The panel was a blast.  Everyone had fun with it and spoke from the heart and shared what it meant to them. Jennifer Carpenter seemed to get a lot of love as a lot of the questions were directed at her.  Geoff Pierson looked like he was going to fall asleep in the back but it was nice he got to be included.  C.S. Lee let out his inner Matsuka with some of his wisecracks and we found out that he is planning a spinoff with Deborah Morgan called "The Matsukas" about the two of them raising his daughter!

They played a game of kiss, marry, kill.  Desmond Harrington let everyone know that that game has a different name...but he wouldn't say it.  Yvonne was given a choice of Deborah Morgan, Batista or Dexter.  She chose to kiss Deborah, marry Dexter and "Sorry, but I'd kill you" to Batista.  Here is some video I shot of Michael C. Hall's kiss, marry, kill.

At one point someone actually had the balls to ask what it was like to work with each other after being divorced.  It was an awkward question and everyone seemed a little taken aback by it but Jennifer handled it very well.  She looked very emotional and said "there is nothing but love and respect there now".  She seemed to come close to tearing up but she handled it well.  Desmond Harrington then chimed in with "What are we on the View?" to lighten the mood.

After the panel wrapped the cast took the time to sign some autographs and take some pictures.  It was such a tight squeeze and hectic that there wasn't much chance in the way of taking pictures of them signing but I did manage some photo ops and a picture of Yvonne Strahovski signing an item for me.

Me & Rita's kids, Astor & Cody.

She makes me look small.  I am small, but she makes me LOOK it.

Yvonne signing an item for me that a friend helped me get.

James Remar doing a interview in the hallway.

Here are the items I knocked out tonight.  It was a pretty successful evening and a great panel for one of my greatest shows.  Glad I was able to be apart of it!!
